A Research Carrier and support craft leave the Plasma Gate of Terra Machina to further explore the planet, Phaedra.
A Brief History of Terra Machina
About a century ago, there was a great battle that took place on and around Earth between the Humans and The Draconis with their allies the Maldijian. The long and short of it is, the Earth was destroyed and all that was left of humanity was what was still on board ships and colony outposts scattered throughout the Solar System. We needed a home. And, in our collective naivete, we now knew what we needed to fortify it. Built out of scrapped ships, satellites, mined asteroids and large portions of our Moon, Luna, we took the next five decades creating the Metal Earth, a machine ball about a quarter the size of our Moon. The advantage was, we didn't rely on just the surface for habitat, we also had a habitable interior where we could grow our crops and recycle water harvested from chunks of ice stolen from Saturn's Rings. All of this warmed by an artificial Plasma Sun on the inside. Which, in turn, also protects the one and only entrance to our new world, the Plasma Gate; a flux frequency keyed door that only allows those craft with the appropriate frequency to enter. And, the frequency is always in motion. One must literally access the correct integers mere moments before entry to align with the plasmatic frequency. If you do not have the code, you are fried. This same plasma also creates a protective shell just above our atmosphere. The only other things penetrating the atmosphere are about a dozen large thrusters that allow our world to wander as we search for a new and natural home, the planet, Phaedra. But..............The Draconis and Maldijian, they follow us. Everywhere we go..............and the war wages on.
Eventually, when I at last have all of my models built, I will begin animating short films to tell this story.
